I’m very pleased that after a year of working remotely I’m now firmly ensconced in the real live Flickr Offices in San Francisco. I can’t even begin to express how completely lovely it is to be in the same timezone as everyone else over here, after a year of having meetings at 9, 10 or 11 o’clock at night. Working 6,000 miles away is kinda ok, but it’s also kinda really stressful and I’m glad to be out the other side of it.
The last couple of days have been spent getting Social Security Numbers, Bank Accounts and all that stuff. One more move into our apartment in a couple of weeks (I’m living in Yahoo! Accommodation at the moment), which will be more chaos, then it’s all Rock and Roll … besides the new apartment has a hot tub … which has to improve blogging, right?
I’d like to say a quick Happy New Year to everyone and I’m totally not going to do the geo-predictions for 2007 thing, as it’s far easier to make the future happen than guess what it’s going to be ;) Although it was fun to see all the usual geo blog suspect pick up on “geotagging” being named word of the year for 2006 (or something like that)!
Good to be back.

welcome, dan! great to have you here. looking forward to seeing you. your eager public awaits.
