My panel for SXSW 2007 (9th - 13th March) just got accepted…
Mapping: Where the F#*% are we now?
Last year online mapping was emerging, now it’s everywhere; on your mobile, in your camera, on your wearable head-up display, in your location aware clothing, even on paper and in your kids. Which of those did I totally make up? Guess it’s time to check in with those people who actually make maps, merge virtual and real worlds at location flux points, and, you know, put maps online.
Now comes the pulling-it-all-together part. The people I’ve penciled in should make it quite an interesting and overall fun panel, I’m aiming for a We Make Money Not Art for mapping.
More info as I battle through it, see you there!

I’ve been wanting to go to SxSW for awhile now, and this seems like just enough reason.
[...] Dan Catt announced that his panel was accepted at SxSW ‘07 in March. The title is excellent too: Mapping: Where the F#*% are we now? [...]
Andrew, it’ll be great to see you there. The evenings are always very very entertaining too!
Hey Dan — do you know what happened to the podcast of this session? I think it used to be linked to from here: http://2007.sxsw.com/interactive/programming/panels/?action=show&id=IAP060187
but it seems to have gone missing. Cheers.
Hi Christina,
Hummm, no idea. To tell the truth I hate listening/watching myself after a presentation thing. So I never downloaded or listened to it. It was probably really good :)
