Links for 2006-12-05

  • Sergio snippet blogs a link about Augmented Reality
“Imagine the ability to automatically receive information about nearby points of interest, immediately locate friends, get accurate directions, and create dynamic geo-referenced information around the world to share with others” – but it’s not so much ‘Imagine’ now-a-days.
  • Ed Parsons leaves the Ordnance Survey
I’ve heard many good things about Ed so it’ll be interesting to see where he heads off too. Good Luck Ed!
  • Mac based Google Earth Geotagger
Droplet to allow geotagging with Google Earth, kinda nifty. He recommends tagging them before importing into iPhoto, but with my workflow … import into iPhoto, tidy up in Photoshop, upload to Flickr, I’ll see if it works just before the upload step.

  1. Hi…

A little off topic but just wanted to pop in and say I hope you enjoyed the Guardian piece, and thanks for the link.

I’m always a little conscious of treading on interesting subcultures since I was a music writer for a long time and used to really hate bad writing about the music I liked!

Anyway it’s good to see that it appears I didn’t do that in this case, I think it’s always important for there to be a link between the people who know and the general public…

Hopefully more articles on future developments in the next few weeks/months….I read here and other sites fairly regularly, but if you ever think of anything we’re missing out on just send me a mail…

    Love the blog,

    Ronan.
