- FotoNation to Provide Wireless Imaging Technology to GPS Handsets
I’ve read the thing twice and I’m still not totally sure what’s going on. Extract … “Trimble’s new TrimPix technology enabled by FotoNation, links high resolution digital photographs to GIS features using Wi-Fi capable Nikon cameras.” - Steve Coast (OSM), has to wait 15 seconds to get off the train.
Apparently the train he was on uses GPS to figure out where it is, and therefor when it’s safe to open the train doors. Except at one station that’s undercover (no GPS signal), so the driver has to override it, taking about 15 seconds.
